I went for the safari zoo run yesterday and my conclusion is that:
For runners: it's a waste of time. (it's stated 6.1km but it is only a 3km run. There is no timing, and it's so crowded) They stated the starting time was at 330 and flag off is at 4pm. They started flagging off @ like 430 and they flag off with waves. So its just waiting and waiting and waiting. Everyone just starts getting grumpy and bored. With the weather so hot, it just makes things worse.
For non-runners: it's a waste of time too. As you walk/run through the zoo, you barely see any animals that are out. The goody bags kinda of suck (only a small bag, and no t-shirt) and the run is freaking expensive. The lucky draw is also pathetic. The location is ulu, so after the run, you basically cant get a public bus and you cant get a cab. Plus it's peak hour, so if you call for a cab its gonna be even more expensive. The F&B are crowded to a max and they actually receive some corner for private function. (which i think its for the organisers) I doubt they ll start the function so early lor, so you just see everyone waiting for seats when one big corner is reserved. Whatever lor. they stated in the run package that runners can get 20% off F&B in the zoo. We went KFC and there isnt.
Basically its just a waste of time and a will-never-participate kinda of thing.
